Pierre-Etienne Couture to Lead Bayer’s Corn Seed Production Site in Sinesti, Romania

Bucharest, June ---, 2024 – Bayer is announcing the appointment of Pierre-Etienne Couture as the new Site Lead for Bayer’s Seed Production Site in Sinesti, Ialomita County, effective July 2024.

Pierre-Etienne Couture brings a lot of experience to his new position. He began his career at Monsanto in 2013, assuming various positions, including Plant Manager at the Peyrehorade plant in France, Distribution & Warehousing Lead at EME level, and Commercial Area Manager. Prior to joining Bayer, he gained valuable experience at agribusiness companies such as Labeyrie® and Bonduelle®. Pierre-Etienne holds a degree in Agronomic Engineering and Food Industry (2005-2011) from Lasalle Beauvais High School in France. He will be relocating to Romania with his family.

Seed production is an important activity for Bayer. The site in Sinesti, Ialomita County, can process, in a single season, corn seeds from an area of 8,000 hectares. The seeds produced here each year could cover the entire corn planting needs of Romania. These seeds are distributed to 22 countries across Europe and beyond, maintaining consistently high quality regardless of the destination. Approximately 40% of the total seed produced

is designated for Romanian farmers. At present, the Production Site in Sinesti stands as Bayer's most advanced facility in the EME region.
