Pluxee, the global partner in employee benefits and engagement, announces leadership changes for its Romanian and Bulgarian entities to accelerate the execution of company’s growth strategy

  • Gabor Olajos, currently the Chief Operating Officer for Pluxee Bulgaria, has been appointed as Country Managing Director for Pluxee Romania & Bulgaria, his mandate becoming effective starting July 22nd, 2024.  

  • He assumes the position previously held by Manuel Fernandez Amezaga who has taken the role of Chief Revenue Growth Officer for Hispanic Latin America and became part of the Global Executive Committee.

  • Marius Popescu, Sales Director for Pluxee Romania, will succeed Gabor Olajos, and will be promoted as Country Operating Director for Pluxee Bulgaria.

Pluxee Romania and Bulgaria announces a strategic leadership transition meant to reinforce the company’s commitment to growth, as the global partner in employee benefits and engagement. Starting July 22nd, 2024, Gabor Olajos, who has previously served as the Chief Operating Officer of Pluxee Bulgaria, will assume the role of Country Managing Director for Pluxee Romania and Bulgaria.  

With more than 20 years of experience in sales and business management, Gabor Olajos has been an integral part of the Pluxee team since 2001, when he joined Pluxee Hungary (then Sodexo Hungary). From his role as Sales Director at Pluxee Hungary, Gabor played an important role in helping the company secure a leading position in the industry. In 2016, Gabor Olajos joined the Romanian team as Sales Director and had an essential contribution to the company’s digital transformation from traditional, paper, to electronic vouchers, while also establishing an effective data-driven sales approach that helped the company’s reinforcing its leading position especially in tourism vertical where its market share reached over50%. In 2021, Gabor Olajos was promoted to the role of Chief Operating Officer for Pluxee Bulgaria, continuing the development of the business unit and supporting the regulatory change process towards the digitization of paper food vouchers. Under his leadership, the Bulgarian entity of Pluxee transitioned to a digital-first approach, resulting in a ten-fold growth in business, while also assuring smooth deployment of the new brand identity.

Gabor Olajos assumes the role previously held by Manuel Fernandez, who has been promoted as the Chief Revenue Growth Officer for Hispanic Latin America. Manuel Fernandez Amezaga, who has also joined the Global Executive Committee for Pluxee, has served as Pluxee Romania & Bulgaria CEO since August 2020.

For the role of Country Operating Director of Pluxee Bulgaria, the company has appointed Marius Popescu, who has previously held the position of Sales Director in Romania. With a tenure of more than 24 years within the company, Marius has played a key part in the digital transformation of the company’s product portfolio, while also having a strategic role in deploying important partnerships such as the one with MyBenefits, multi-benefit platform solution, and The Happiness Index, neuroscience-based platform helping organizations measure the key employee engagement and happiness drivers to power their people strategy.
