The Story of an Idea
The Marmorosch story began as the daring vision of a couple of great individuals. Jacob Marmorosch along with his friend and financial backer Mauriciu Blank envisioned a bank that would become Romania’s most powerful. The institution quickly matured into an international driver of prosperity, creativity, and innovation based in Bucharest and with outlets in Vienna, New York, Istanbul and Paris. The Marmorosch bank became the main Romanian market energizer of the early twentieth century – investing in people’s dreams for a better future, boosting the local economy, and playing a pivotal role in the country's political and cultural life. Although the proud legacy of the bank fell to its knees after the Second World War, today the great dream is reborn and continues into the future.
